If you are playing a six deck game, which is one of the most common Blackjack variants offered by casinos then below are the index numbers which, once learnt, will
give you around 85% of the values of each particular index number.
The basis of the index number is that they will show you the correct move to make whether it be standing a hand, doubling down, or splitting a hand, but only
when the True Count is the same or greater than the index numbers below, if not then you should hit your hand.
Insurance should be taken when the index number is +3 or greater, although players are never advised to take insurance, in such circumstances you should.
If you have sixteen against a Dealers ten the index number is +0.
A Players fifteen against a Dealers ten the index number is +4.
A players pair of tens against a Dealers five the index number is +5.
A players pair of tens against a Dealers six the index number is +4.
A players ten against a dealers 10 the index number is +4.
A players twelve against a dealer three the index number is +2.
A players twelve against a Dealers two the index number is +3.
A players eleven against a dealers Ace the index number is +1.
A players nine against a dealers two the index number is +1.
A players ten against a dealers Ace the index number is +4.
A players nine against a dealers seven the index number is +3.
A players sixteen against a dealers nine the index number is +5.
A players thirteen against a dealers two the index number is -1.
A players twelve against a dealers four the index number is 0.
A players twelve against a dealers five the index number is -2.
A players twelve against a dealers six the index number is -1.
A players thirteen against a dealers three the index number is -2.
Like insurance, surrendering a hand comes into its own when you are card counting, and as such we have listed the four moves that
over-ride the usual Basic strategy these are:
A players fourteen against a dealers ten then index number is +3.
A players fifteen against a dealers ten the index number is +0.
A players fifteen against a dealers nine the index number is +2.
A players fifteen against a dealers Ace the index number is +1.
So to gain the maximum returns based on the True Count you should surrender your hand when you are holding any of the hands above
but only when the index number is equal too or greater than the index numbers above.
