Blackjack switch is one of the lowest house edge Blackjack variants around, and this is due to its gameplay rules, one of which
says that players may swap cards from on hand to another.
This therefore means you will be playing two hands per game and as such you will have to place a wager on both before the game will begin. These
wagers have to be of equal value.
There is one major rule change that you need to be aware of and that is that should the Dealer get a hand worth 22 in value then this is a push and not
a bust hand. Also Blackjack will pay even money.
Number Of Decks:
Blackjack Switch is commonly played with either 6 or 8 decks of playing cards.
Switching Rules:
All players can, should they wish, swap the second dealt card on a hand with the second dealt card of the other hand, to help them make two better hands.
You can also swap cards if the swapped cards make up a Blackjack hand (Ace and a Ten valued card).
Doubling Down Rules:
A player is allowed to Double Down on any 2 cards.
Players are also allowed to double after a Split .
Dealer Play:
The Dealer will always Hit a soft 17 hand. This game is a hole card game so the Dealer will be checking for Blackjack when he is holding a Ten or an Ace.
If he has, then he will reveal his hand and the game will be brought to its conclusion.
A dealer hand with a total of 22 will push against any players total of 21 or less. Also a players blackjack will still beat a dealer 22.
Online players need to be aware that the entire deck is shuffled before each game begins.
Payouts and House Edge:
A Blackjack hand pays even money, and a winning Insurance bet pays 2-1.
The House Edge of the Blackjack Switch game, when played with six decks is 0.17%.
Blackjack Switch - Hints and Tips
As always it really does pay when you play Blackjack variants to fully understand the rules of each game, as it is these that
define the house edge and therefore by choosing only those games with the lowest house edge you stand more chance of coming out ahead.
Also try and get a strategy card for Blackjack Switch as this will show you every possible move you should make based on both your own cards
and the Dealers upcards.
There are however some moves that require no thinking about when playing Blackjack Switch and these are listed below.
You should always hit your hand no matter what the Dealer is showing when you are holding any of the following hands:
a pair of 4's, A,2, A,3, A,4, or 5, 6, 7, 8.
Get 17, 18, 19, 20 or 21 then you should always stand your hand no matter what the Dealers upcard is.
As with most if not all Blackjack variants if you get dealt a pair of Aces then the
correct strategy is to split them, irrespective of what the Dealer is showing.
